Your placement is a lottery.
Your housing shouldn't be.

Foundation doctors are now allocated to training locations by a random computer-generated number, not merit. Placement finds you trusted accommodation near your hospital, wherever you end up.

What changed in 2024: The old SJT-based system let high performers earn their preferred location. The new Preference Informed Allocation (PIA) system uses a randomly generated rank. You can preference a broad region, but your specific hospital isn't confirmed until much later. Placement was built for exactly this.

How it works

Built around how doctors actually move

Sign up once. Tell us where you're going. Everything else is automatic.

1

Verify with your GMC number

Provisional or full registration, both work. We check you against the public GMC register instantly. Works from your very first FY1 day.

2

Tell us your next hospital

Enter your placement hospital and start date. Every listing is automatically ranked by distance from there. Not a city centre. Your hospital.

3

Find, move in, hand over

Find somewhere great. When you rotate out, pass your room to the next doctor rotating in. They get somewhere trusted. You get peace of mind.

Features

Everything Rightmove doesn't tell you

The details that actually matter when you're working nights.

🏥

Ranked by hospital distance

Exact distance and commute time to your specific hospital. Because that's what matters at 6am after a night shift. Not how far you are from a city centre.

🌙

Doctor-specific reviews

Reviews from other doctors covering what actually matters: quiet after nights, blackout blinds, parking, landlords who understand shift patterns and flexible move-in dates.

🔄

The handover model

Leaving a great place? Pass it to the next doctor rotating in, like handing over a bleep. They get a trusted room. You get someone reliable taking yours.

GMC-verified community

Every doctor is verified via their GMC number, provisional or full. Landlords know they're renting to professionals. You know you're in a trusted network.

The problem

Housing between shifts shouldn't be this hard

These aren't edge cases. This is standard foundation training.

Illustrative examples based on commonly reported experiences, not verified testimonials.

"I found out my rotation location six weeks before I had to move. I spent every spare hour between shifts scrolling Rightmove for somewhere that wasn't a two-hour commute to the hospital."

"Under PIA I ended up in a town I'd never heard of. No contacts, no local knowledge, and three weeks to sort housing before I started. It added real stress to an already overwhelming time."

Also building for graduate scheme workers

Consultants, bankers and accountants on rotational grad schemes face the same problem. We're building for them too, same listings, different lens.

On the roadmap: Grad scheme workers verified via work email, listings ranked by distance to their office, same handover model. One listings database shared across both communities. A doctor sees hospital distance, a grad sees office distance. Launching mid-2027 after our foundation doctor community is live. Find out more →
